Overview

Learn and apply principles of effectively using Powerpoint. Collaborate with peers to choose the content for a review of one course topic. Individually create a set of Powerpoint slides based on that content and present it to the class.

Steps

1. [collaborative] Begin by getting together with others assigned to your topic. Review any class notes on the subject along with lab assignments. Write a combined summary of the topic and devise 3 or more possible exam questions from that area.
2. [individual] Read through section 7 of the lab manual on Presentations. Do all of the steps described there.
3. [collaborative] [individual] Devise a set of Powerpoint slides based on the content and questions from Step 1 of this lab (see Requirements). Save your slides in the web directory of your K: drive, in Office 1997-2004 format, with the name review.ppt (note that Windows may automatically append .ppt to your file name). Confirm that your slides are available by visiting http://home.messiah.edu/~<your_user_id>/review.ppt (replace <your_user_id> with your user id).
4. [collaborative/individual] Share your presentation with the class on Tuesday, 5/4.
